Victoria

CPD skills maintenance courses are a requirement for renewing your licence. Complete the CPD course within the two years before your licence renewal is due.

What CPD is for electricians

Continuing professional development (CPD) was a requirement introduced in 2022 by Energy Safe Victoria in the renewal process for electrical licences.

CPD training is delivered in a session of up to eight hours by training providers like NECA Education & Careers. If you hold more than one type of licence, you will need to complete the specific training for each licence type.

Familiarise yourself with updates to standards and regulations, and advancements in safety and new technologies. The training is highly practical.

The state government has committed that no licence holder will need to pay for their course for the first round of licence renewals.

Why you should complete CPD training

As the governing body for electrical licences in Victoria, Energy Safe Victoria is enforcing the legislative commitment by the state government that licence holders demonstrate ongoing competence.

All NECA Education & Careers electrical trainers are qualified and experienced A Grades and those delivering the CPD program have completed specialist training.

If you have more questions, Energy Safe have more answers.
