Electric vehicle charging

This course focuses on real-world, job-ready skills for residential and small-commercial EV charger installations up to 22 kW. Unlike generic EV awareness programs, it blends  installation know-how, compliance with Australian standards and client advisory skills in a single day.

Participants don’t just learn the ‘what’ of EV charging, they gain the ‘how’: sizing, maximum demand calculations, integration with solar, and avoiding costly installation mistakes.

Developed and delivered by an industry-leading EV expert, it positions electricians as trusted advisors in a booming market, ready to meet demand today and adapt to tomorrow’s technologies.

Classes will have between 10 and 18 participants.

A comprehensive 1-day non-accredited course designed for A Grade electricians and 3rd/4th year apprentices to develop skills in residential and small commercial EV charging installations up to 22kW.

To participate in this course as an electrician, you should either:

• Have your A-Grade electrician qualification, OR
• Be a 4th year electrical apprentice with industry experience.

This course is free for participants.

This program is funded by the Victorian Government through Solar Victoria’s Electrification Skills Program.

This course prepares participants for future accredited vehicle-to-grid courses and advanced EV installation qualifications anticipated in 2026.
