Course description

SWP goes through the skills and knowledge to:

  • safely isolate
  • test, tag
  • disconnect and reconnect a permanently wired electrical appliance compliant with the AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules and the AS/NZS 4836:2011-Safe working on or near low-voltage electrical installations and equipment
  • participants will also learn to undertake the necessary electrical tests to ensure the appliance is safe prior to re-connection and commissioning.

Please note that the latest edition of any standard includes relevant amendments.

Course details

It is recommended that Safe Work Practice be completed first, and then you can complete the other tutorials as required.

Ensure that you are competent in all units required and that your profiling is current and has been verified by your employer.

You are required to bring:

Your IR Tester

Insulated gloves tested to AS2225  630v or IEC903 500v with flame resistance outers.  Inners are recommended.

Upon successful completion you may choose to complete Licensed Electrician Practice (LEP) or Licensed Electrician Theory (LET).

After booking your tutorial with us please call Future Energy Skills on 9654 1299 to book, pay and confirm your assessment date that has been reserved for you.

You are required to receive approval from your trade school to sit your exams. Please contact your trade school to arrange.

You will need to email your signed LEA “Authorisation to Undertake License Electrical Assessment” to leabookings@futureenergyskills.com.au. You will not be able to sit the assessment without this form and needs to be emailed before the exam date or you will need to re-book your exam at your own expense. Contact your trade school if you do not have this form.
