NECA Education & Careers celebrated a night of recognition at NECA National Awards on Thursday, 27th November. The event shone a spotlight on the talent, dedication, and passion that define the nominated apprentices, teachers and employers from across the country.
For NECA E&C, there were two standout achievements on the evening, Lucas Rumberg, hosted by Stowe Australia, was named 4th Year ELV/Communications Apprentice of the Year, and John Steed was named NECA Trade Teacher of the Year. John’s genuine commitment to his students, his love for the trade, and the way he shows up for people every day have made him a well-respected and much-loved teacher at NECA E&C and across the industry.
“John embodies everything that makes NECA E&C special. He brings heart, humour and decades of industry experience into every lesson. He has a genuine care for his students, and a drive to help apprentices become confident, capable sparkies,” said Gideon Perrott, CEO, NECA Education & Careers. “We are incredibly proud to see him recognised at a national level.”
NECA Education & Careers was also represented by an impressive group of finalists whose achievements reflect not only their personal dedication and talent, but also the strength of our apprenticeship programs.
Two additional NECA E&C apprentices were finalists in the national awards:
- Bonnie Saunders (Nilsen) – nominated in the 4th Year Commercial/Domestic Apprentice of the Year category.
- Bianca Eberle – nominated in the Industrial Apprentice of the Year category.
These nominations recognise the commitment, culture and training excellence that NECA E&C is known for, and the dedication of the apprentices to all aspects of their work.
