From day one of her apprenticeship, Bianca Eberle has been lighting the way — and being a finalist in the 2025 Tasmanian Training Awards was the latest highlight in her career so far.
It’s a huge deal, and we couldn’t be prouder!
On Friday, 19 September, Tasmania’s best and brightest in vocational education gathered at Hobart’s Grand Chancellor Hotel to celebrate the state’s top apprentices, trainees, and training providers. While Bianca didn’t take home the Apprentice of the Year title (shoutout to winner Holly Frankcombe, a line worker apprentice), being a finalist is a massive achievement — and a powerful reminder that women are making serious moves in the trades.
And this isn’t Bianca’s first time in the spotlight. Over her four years with NECA Education & Careers, she’s stacked up an impressive list of wins:

- 🏆 4th Year Apprentice of the Year – 2024 NECA E&C Awards
- 🏆 3rd Year Apprentice of the Year – 2023 NECA E&C Awards
- 🏆 Women in Industry – 2023 NECA Tasmania Awards
- 🏆 2nd Year Apprentice of the Year – 2022 NECA E&C Awards
No wonder the NECA team calls her “one of our finest young sparkies.”
Bianca has been hosted throughout her apprenticeship by RBD Electrical, where she has worked on some seriously cool projects — from submain upgrades at Mersey Community Hospital to the Simplot Ulverstone Batter Plant Upgrade, and a range of TasWater Pumping Station and Hydro Power Station sites. Her team says she’s got a sharp eye for safety, a proactive mindset, and skills well beyond her years.
Her Industry Careers Consultant, Anna McGregor, put it best: “Bianca has a thirst for knowledge and strives for excellence. She’s not just learning, she’s giving back – mentoring others and repping NECA E&C at career expos.”
Incoming State Manager Kylie Murphy added, “We’re all so proud of you, Bianca, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.”
The night wrapped up with outgoing NECA E&C General Manager Careers Tasmania, Gary Vidler, presenting the Lance Barnard Memorial Award — a fitting end to his career and a reminder of why recognising talent like Bianca’s matters.
