Our Industry Careers Consultants are trained in mental health first aid to equip them with the tools to support apprentices when dealing with challenges they may face on or off the worksite.

At NECA Education & Careers, safety is at the heart of everything we do. Whether you’re on the job site or in our training workshops, we’re committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where students can thrive.
Our intention is to always reinforce safe practices and help guide apprentices if we spot any unsafe behaviours – building habits that carry over to the workplace.
Extra support for apprentices
NECA apprentices, employed through our group training organisation (GTO), also have access to extra support, including:

NECA Education & Careers engages Carfi for EAP, which provides confidential counselling.
Industry careers consultants (ICC)
Each apprentice is assigned a dedicated ICC who will meet with them in regular site visits to make sure they’re making progress on and off site. They can also call on the ICC at any time for guidance.
Return to work
If a workplace incident does unfortunately occur, our return-to-work coordinator is available to help with processes such as managing occupational rehabilitation.
